How am I sure the referrals are from a genuine doctor?

We operate within a high level of ethical and regulatory standards. All our doctors are properly checked and registered practitioners licensed to practice in Nigeria as well as UK, US, Canada, Australia, Dubai and other places. They are reputable board certified and in good standing with their local regulatory bodies. All referrals will be transmitted by Mobihealth electronically and a copy will also be given to the patient. We expect a confirmation of appointment from the hospital to Mobihealth which will communicated to patient.

How do you send patients to my hospital?

Our doctors send a written referral to the hospital/specialist which are transmitted electronically. Confirmation of the date, time, location and name of the doctor to see will be expected from the hospital to Mobihealth and this will be communicated to the patient by us.

Who pays for the hospital treatment?

Mobihealth pays for the patient’s hospitalization and treatment. You won’t have to worry about patient’s affordability or reimbursement. Once we receive the invoice, we will deposit the same amount to the designated account immediately/weekly/monthly depending on preference.

How many request do you expect daily?

It varies, depends on patient volume and diagnosis.

Who pays?

Investigations requested by Mobihealth doctors are paid for by Mobihealth.

Is there a EHR where we can upload results and images once they are ready?

Yes, our streamline EHR is the industry’s best and you can integrate on our platform so patients and clinicians can view results easily.

How am I sure the prescriptions are from a genuine doctor?

We operate within a high level of ethical and regulatory standards. All our doctors are properly checked and registered practitioners licensed to practice in Nigeria as well as the UK, US, Canada, Australia, Dubai and other places. They are reputable board certified and in good standing with their local regulatory bodies.
We also have our in-house Pharmacists who make sure prescriptions are in order to minimize errors.
Our e-prescribing tools are also very useful as they guide the doctors with formularies and local antibiotic policies.
There must be video connection in order to prescribe; physicians cannot prescribe based on a phone or chat encounter.

In the interest of the patient and public safety, Medications below are excluded from the formulary:

Controlled substances (narcotics, anxiety medications, ADHD medications)
Muscle relaxants
Medications for erectile dysfunction
Any additional state-specific controlled medications (additional pain medications, pseudoephedrine)

How do you send prescription to my pharmacy?

Our in-house Pharmacists and doctors send the prescriptions to local Pharmacies electronically and expect acknowledgement that order is being processed. Once completed and ready for pick-up, please notify us via a dedicated email and we will either ask the patient to pick it up or our courier will collect on behalf of the patient. If you offer courier service then please indicate that.

Mobihealth pays for the patient’s prescription. You won’t have to worry about patient’s affordability or reimbursement. Is Mobihealth a Health Insurance Company?

NO! We are not a Health Insurance company. In fact, Insurance companies are leveraging on telemedicine providers like us to reduce the need for hospital visits and high cost.

Our goal is to bridge the gap in healthcare access and delivery in developing countries by taking advantage of telemedicine and the digital revolution. We are also a healthcare service One-stop-portal connecting patients to quality healthcare providers locally and this is accessible through our mobile apps or website. Our doctors see all range of medical problems that includes acute non-emergency cases such as Malaria, Chest Infections, skin disease, GI problems, Infections etc. If you have a life-threatening emergency please go to/call your nearest hospital/emergency line. Our platform only caters for acute not life-threatening emergencies. We pay for all the care our subscribers receive through this platform and the other treatments or investigations when referred to local providers. You don’t have to worry about out-of-pocket payment. However, only paid subscribers are granted access to consultations and services.

Do you take patients with Pre-existing Medical Conditions?

We provide consultations and treatment for acute conditions. Patients with “significant pre-existing medical conditions” should contact us for further advise. Our regular subscription bundles do NOT apply to patients with significant co-morbidities. We, however, can provide advice on individualized plans. Our PAYG video consultation and prescription only services can also be used by anyone including those with co-existing medical problems. Please contact us for more details.

How can I request consultation?

You can request consultation anytime anywhere through Mobihealth app on your smartphone or through your laptop through our secured telemedicine and healthcare service platform seeking care for acute non-emergency medical conditions. You can browse services by speciality or location and will see services from licensed providers who are available for consultation within a time slots. You will be able to request a particular specialist and we will endeavour to send them your consultation request to see if they are available, if not, any other doctor will be able to see you. As a policy family and friends are not allowed to see or treat patients. You agree not to abuse the use of the platform and to abide by the Terms and Conditions on our website. It is your responsibility to ensure you are prepared before accepting video consultation. To ensure privacy and minimise background distractions, ensure good lighting. Please be aware that your consultations may be recorded for quality and monitoring purposes.

What equipment do I need to conduct a video visit?

You can conduct video consultations from the comfort of your home/office anytime anywhere You’ll just need one of the following:

  • A computer with an internal or external camera. You can use a wide range of web browsers such as Chrome, Explorer or Firefox.
  • An Apple iPhone or iPad or an Android-enabled device with the camera-enabled and our provider app downloaded. We recommend using a stand for your phone or tablet during visits to keep the camera stable.

How do I conduct a physical exam remotely?

Many aspects of the in-person physical exam can also be replicated remotely using webcam or Telehealth devices which are FDA Approved (e.g www.tytocare.com). The recordings are transmitted to the doctor remotely via a secure platform to enhance virtual consultation experience and accuracy in diagnosis. For those patients who don’t have these devices, the doctor will be able to visually assess them through real-time capabilities on their smartphone/webcam, and can accurately gauge general distress, skin tone, clarity of thought and speech, respiratory rate, work of breathing, gait, etc. You can also assist the doctor in physical examination by following his instructions to palpate areas of tenderness, assess ROM, assist in moving the camera to visualize areas such as the oropharynx and assist in abdominal self-exams. In conjunction with a thorough history, many providers feel that the information they can obtain from a video visit is sufficient for an accurate diagnosis of many conditions. Don’t worry about the quality of the video. Our customized video software is specifically designed for low bandwidth, difficult topography with fluctuating signal levels and this is provided by a US-based industry leader used by NASA, Barclays, HSBC and many reputable industry names. Our software produces a quality stable video consultation experience that ensures accurate diagnosis and management.

As a Mobihealth doctor, you will see acute non-emergency cases such including but not limited to Malaria, Chest Infections, skin disease, GI problems, Cardiovascular, Endocrine conditions etc. Patients with significant pre-existing conditions are generally not covered under our regular bundles but can be seen on a PAYG basis. Don’t worry about the details our triage system will ensure things run smoothly for you.

Emergency cases must be asked to immediately go to the hospital as our platform only caters for acute not emergencies. We pay for all the care our subscribers receive through this platform and the other treatments or investigations when referred to local providers. You don’t have to worry about affordability from the patient’s side. Only paid subscribers are granted access to consultations and services.

How will patients find me?

Patients come in through our secured telemedicine and healthcare service platform seeking care for acute non-emergency medical conditions. They can browse services by speciality or location and will see services from providers licensed providers who are available online within a time frame and our admin, other clinical support and pharmacy staff will be on hand to assist you. You will be able to update your availability on our scheduler. Please provide at least 24hrs notice if any cancellations or change to the original booking. We need a minimum of 1hour consultation time per session during which you will be required to see at least 3 patients at 20 minutes per consultation.

Mobihealth pays doctors directly, so don’t worry about the patient’s ability to pay. All patients requesting consultation must have pre-paid.

Our platform is free for you to use. We pay our doctors competitive rates. You can work and earn extra income on top of your regular job.

How do i prescribe?

Our prescription portal is specially designed so doctors are easily able to prescribe through choosing from a specifically designed formulary. The clinical support team and pharmacy lead manage the prescription process to ensure prescriptions are ready at the chosen pharmacy within an hour.

How will I get paid?

All consultation fees collected for completed encounters will automatically transfer to a bank account of your choice on a weekly basis upon submission of your timesheets. Patients pre-pay for a visit through our tiered subscription bundles. For those who choose PAYG, We collect payment upfront before a visit starts. You do not need to worry about how to get paid by the patients because we pay our providers directly and you only see those who are already subscribed and have made payments to us.

How do I prescribe?

You will be able to e-prescribe and manage medications with the highest level of e-prescribing integration including full local formulary, up-to-date prescriptions and geolocation pharmacy selection. There must be video connection in order to prescribe; physicians cannot prescribe based on a phone or chat encounter. We have a very good supportive team on call each time you are in session.
